Mochi donut

Shaped like a flower, the mochi donut is a clever mix between the Japanese mochi, a dessert made from sticky rice flour, and the donut, an American doughnut. It is made up of 8 balls of dough joined together, and it offers a texture that is light , elastic and soft in the mouth. Its original name is Pon de ring (ポンデリング), from which our name, PonPon , comes.

Our story

During a trip to Hawaii, Hélène discovered the mochi donut. Back in France, she shared it with her two friends Wenxu and Céline, who are passionate about baking.

Initial tests were carried out at home during the 2021 lockdowns. Love at first sight! Both were won over by its lighter texture than a classic donut, so they decided to launch their own business .

After a year of preparation, PonPon, the first mochi donut shop in France, opened its doors in mid-January 2022, creating a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing space.
